About me
I had always wanted to become a doctor. It was busy in the junior doctor years, then even busier as a GP. Work was interesting and there was plenty to learn, and understood the privileged position I was in to listen to patients. Life was busy, balancing an ambitious heart for a fulfilling career while having a family. I wanted to do both career and life well.
I learnt lots of skills as a GP. I learnt to lead and how to be a good manager. I also spent a lot of time teaching, mentoring and helping people develop in their careers. I discovered that this was one of my favourite parts of being a GP.
But...I often wondered if I made the right career choices, which way to turn, those "what if" moments. I ended up having coaching, which made a huge difference in my career. I wish I had known about coaching earlier!
My own career has had it's amazing twists and turns. During this time I have always sought to develop my career while having balance in life. Balance is so important. We need those times of rest and refreshment so we can be healthy in our minds too.
When Iām not working, I enjoy watching MasterChef (and cooking shows in general - I am a foodie!) and The Apprentice. I enjoy being with my family, walking, and also being part of my local church family.
